With over 13,000 students in Charlottesville the church realizes the potential of
reaching out to UVA students during this important time of their life. The Rugby
Avenue Church offers a smaller family type church environment where you can
be noticed and contribute.
If you are a new student or returning we would like to welcome you to our
church. Every year new students come in and others depart and the college
program is dynamic and ever changing. Some highlights of our past program
include:
* College Classes (Sunday) - Generally, our class will consist of a textual study
geared toward an in depth analysis of a given book's theology and application to
contemporary life. At times it will also focus on a topical study of some special
interest and relevance to college students.
* Adopt-a-student program - At the beginning of each year we link each student
up with a local church family. Then, at least once a month, the adoptive family
will do something with the students. This may be as simple as running errands or
having the student over for dinner, but helps to make them feel a little more at
home while away from home.
* Graduate Dinner - Each Spring at the end of the school year we have dinner
honoring the graduates before they leave to start their new careers.
* Other activities can include game nights; devotionals; skiing; hikes; bible studies
or whatever else the students decide to do.
Transportation?
If you need transportation it is not a problem.
